Had a wicked craving for Italian food on New Years day, so we decided to check out Carrabba's - and it couldn't have been a better decision. I had the lobster mac'n'cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. Being a runner, I watch what I eat, and definitely wouldn't have chosen this in any other situation, but I always think it's 'worth the calories' when you can't stop thinking about the meal, even days after you've consumed the last bit of leftovers. And honestly, Carrabba's has done that for me. As first time guests, we even got free dessert. Oh my goodness, honey, I can't speak highly enough of how magnificent that chocolate heaven dream thing was. The brownie was cooked perfectly, the whipped cream almost tasted home-made, and it absolutely melted in your mouth. Again, completely worth the calories. I'm pretty sure it'll be my best meal of 2015, and I'm completely okay with it. 5 stars isn't enough for this place. On top of the amazing food, the ambiance was perfect for both three friends (which is the group I was in,) and it would also be great for a date with someone special. The wait staff was attentive and kind, and the employees gave great descriptions of everything on the menu. (They even spoke highly about the work environment, a nice change of pace from what I usually hear.) If I ever find myself in Johnson City again, I definitely want to go back to this place. Even if it's just for dessert. Or a meal. Whatever. I want to go back.

I was unimpressed with Carrabba's and can't really see what all the hype is over. The lobster ravioli, which sounded really awesome, actually turned out to be sort of fishy and mathematically, the bite sized pieces worked out costing around two dollars apiece. I'd have been better off spending my money on black tar heroin and Monster energy drinks. My wife, who is allergic to meat, had the Cavatappi a Fromaggi. It arrived decorated with chicken. They claimed it could be quickly remade and in fact returned several minutes later with a "fresh" dish. She ate it anyway and still spent the evening with a belly ache. I tried it...and it tasted...ok. The bread was good. My tomato basil soup was pretty good. But, even Olive Garden gets that right. Next time we have the inclination to dine on corporate Italian chain food, it'll be at an Olive Garden.

While traveling down south, I was craving Carrabba's and begged my sister-in-law if we could dine here the evening before returning home to Pittsburgh. Overall, I had a nice experience! Even though we came on a Saturday night around 6pm, the road conditions were very poor, thus a lot of people likely were staying warm at home, so we were seated immediately! Our waitress was a very sweet, very Southern girl who was as accommodating as possible. For me, the food delivered! The bread with dipping oil was delicious as always, and my house salad was tasty. My meal - Veal Marsala with Fettuccine Alfredo - was fabulous and exactly what I was craving. This meal is one of my comfort foods! I was disappointed to get to dinner feeling completely stuffed, because I could have definitely gone for dessert.

Great food and good service every time I've been there. Wait staff gives recommendations on good that they enjoy and not just the highest priced item on the menu. Seating can be tricky sometimes but when was they offered appetizers and drinks in the waiting area.

What a great meal. After watching a boring XFinity race. This place made our day. Starting out with tomato basil soup and calamari, both of which were amazing. We had chicken parm, a little dry but great flavor. Pork Chop Marsalla which was to die for. My wife had chicken alfredo and it was good too. I forgot to mention this was all complimented with a great caesar salad. Great service and a short 15 minute wait on a saturday night prom night.

My family ate at the Carrabba's in Pennsylvania several years ago and our daughter asked to eat at the closest one to our house now. We drove about an hour to Johnson City, TN and planned to eat lunch. We arrived around 12:30pm and was seated right away. Before we knew it AMANDA announced herself and said she would be serving us. She gave us the best service we've had in a long time! She wasn't too pushy but just the right amount of service. The food...well...let me say it was the best meal each of us had had in years at a restaurant. I mean YEARS. The three of us came out talking about when we could come eat here again (and the bill wasn't knock you down bad either!) and we couldn't wait to go to as many sites and tell as many people just what good service AMANDA gave us!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
